Resources - Jesus says, "Follow me"

FCC at Worship

This page has some general concepts that you may find useful.

There are also some limited copyright issues, which are towards the bottom of that page here. Please do read them. They are not complex!

I also make some comments about the source of material - again please read, especially if you recognise your material! I mean no offense.

There is also an Alphabetical list of resources here

On this page you will find a number of downloads that help tell the account of Jesus calling some of His disciples.

The main accounts of this in the Bible, can be read in Matthew 4:18-22 and Mark 1:16-20

The teaching that you could pull from this is that Jesus wants us to be His followers.  To do that we need to make a choice.  We have used the four points or stages that can be seen in this video here. This video is probably not suitable for your group, but it gives the context.

Printing tips

The PDF is designed so that pages one and two can be backed, so that the prayer is on the back of the main sheet.  Of course they do not have to be backed!

The final page in the PDF is the same as the first sheet without the words.  This can be printed out and cut up into a puzzle depending on the ability of your group!  Hope you do not mind it being in the same PDF.  It seemed a good idea at the time!

The pictures that I have used, can be downloaded here in zip format for you to use in your projects if that would help.

Download the Colour booklet of Jesus calling His disciples

A small colour booklet telling the story.  (PDF download here)

Download the cover sheet to go with it. (PDF download)

It is worth downloading the cover as well. It makes the whole thing complete!

This, and the larger version below, are from Lambsong. They have agreed that we can use and alter the material in any way and make it available to others.  Our thanks to them.

To print the main booklet.

Although the pages in the PDF look in a muddle, they are not! Simply follow these instructions and all will be well!

  • This needs to be backed, double-sided or duplex printed, short edge or short sided binding or whatever your machine says.  NOT LONG edge!
  • Then once printed you will see that there are two copies per page.  Simply cut the paper into two longways, and staple them together to make the booklet.

To print the cover.

No special magic required! It is one sheet to print. Then cut longways to match the main booklet.  Simples!

This is a larger version of the colour booklet above.  It is in outline only so it can be coloured in.

Six wordsearches to download and try

We have discovered that some of our folk like doing Wordsearches. We have put together six sheets of wordsearches that are relevant to this topic. I hope that there is good range of complexity!

There are no catches as to how to print!

These wordsearches were gleaned from a number of places on the web. Here are some of the links

  • In the Wordsearch document the last page is Copyright Diane McCloud 2018 and used by permission. We are very grateful to her for allowing us to use this page. It is part of a document downloaded from here.
